Bayfield Middle School art students have joined other schools from around the world to celebrate International Peace day by “planting” these pinwheels with messages of peace. Each student created their own pinwheel and wrote their thoughts about tolerance, war, peace, and living in harmony with others. This art installation project was started in 2005 by two art teachers in Florida, as a way for students to express their feelings about what’s going on in the world and their lives.
Last year there were over 3 million pinwheels spinning messages to the sky!
Imagine…whirld peace
In today’s world, peace needs to be more than just a word.
